Next meet is this Tuesday, July 1^st at Hamilton Mill. Swimmers should arrive by 5:15, warm-up is 5:30. All first shift volunteers sign in before 5:30.

A note from Hamilton Mill: For overflow parking- go right back out of the lot...straight through the 4-way stop and you'll see the right-hand lane of Hamilton Mill Parkway (the opposite direction from where you came) coned off. The right lane (closest to the curb) is where you can park. The police officer who patrols our lot is very grumpy and will ask for cars illegally parked to be moved or they'll be towed.

Bullpen: All of our swimmers will be inside the fence sharing the drained kiddie pool area with Hamilton Mill’s swimmers. Please remind your children to clean up after themselves so we leave their pool as we found it.
Concessions: Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, pizza, nachos, corn dogs, and candy, drinks, etc.

Morningview Loses to Thunderbolts - Friday, June 13, 2008

What a valiant effort on the part of our swimmers. Final score was 808 (Bolts) to 774 (MV)- a very close meet with a highly competitive team. Congrats to our record breakers:

Catherine Rummins (5) beat the 6 and Under 25 Back record with a 23.37

Caroline Kenney (15) beat the 15-18 50 Back record with a 28.62

2 relay records were also broken:

9-10 Boys Medley 109.02- Riley Burns, Jared Clance, JP Baselj, Connor Darling

11-12 Boys Medley 215.88- Jay Cathcart, Cole Cannon, Jeremy Anderson, Nick Alvarez

Swim Meet 6-12 - Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Away Meet vs. Thunderbolts this Thursday, June 12 at Olde Savannah Square, 6:00 P.M. Swimmers should arrive by 5:15, warm-up is 5:30. All first shift volunteers sign in before 5:30.

· Park at the pool lot; overflow parking is at New Life Baptist Church just west of the OSS entrance

· MV Bullpen is outside the fenced pool area

· MV parent seating area is facing the clubhouse

· Heat sheets are $2, sold by the pool gate entrance, and later sold at concessions (located upstairs on the back of the clubhouse)

· No one is allowed in the clubhouse except Officials, Coaches, Council Members and the Scoring Table volunteers

· Important note from the Bolts: All amenities (tennis, volleyball, basketball, playground) are off limits to swimmers and their families, please remain in our bullpen area

The Thunderbolts have always been a very strong team (finishing second in the county last year, we finished third). We didn’t get to swim against them last year and we are expecting an extremely competitive swim meet on Thursday!

Wednesday- Last after-school practice

Thursday- First morning practice

6 and U: 8:00-8:30

7-8 yr olds: 8:30-9:15

9-10 yr olds: 9:15-10:00

11 and Up: 10:00- 11:00

Friday- Regular morning practice

No practice on Memorial Day

TIME: 6:00 PM

Please email morningviewswimteam@charter.net if your child would like to swim in the mock meet. This is a great trial run especially for those new to swim team, but everyone is welcome.

Note: Each child will be entered in all short events for their age group. (For example: 10 and unders will swim 25 yard events; 11 and up will swim 50 yard events.) They will not swim long events, IM, or relays for this meet.

***Parents will automatically be placed in volunteer positions for the meet if their child is swimming.***

Welcome to the 2008 Swim Season - Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Welcome to the 2008 summer swim season! Practices will begin after school on Monday, May 12^th for Manta Rays. Please check this website regularly over the season for updates. You will find information such as practice schedules, meet schedules and directions, meet results, and sponsorship information. New families will want to check out our Parent Handbook; a link is on the home page.

Please take a moment to read the sponsor info, print out the forms, and ask around at local business. Our team depends on sponsor income to fund some of the team events, like the end-of-season party, fun Friday practice snacks, and more. Anyone who brings in sponsor money will get 10% of the money back as a sponsor rebate.

If you have friends who are interested in joining the team we will continue to take registrations up until April 21^st. Age groups that are full include 7-8 boys and girls, 11-12 boys and girls, and Mini Mantas. Mini Mantas do not begin practices until May 27^th. Coach Kim will be contacting the Mini Manta families with schedules and information. Coach Kim’s email is kah1996@bellsouth.net.

We are using the same team swimsuit as last summer, but if you are new to the team, or your child needs a new suit, call Kast-A-Way at the Sugarloaf Swim Atlanta (770-338-1488). The purchase of a team swimsuit is always optional. Team apparel will be for sale in the near future. Details will be posted on our website.

And mark your calendars…pictures will be taken on Tues. May 20; individual pictures starting at 4:00, team picture about 5:15.
